Industrial production increased by 9.3% in 2017, in nominal terms, accelerating when compared with 2016

In 2017, total sales and services in the manufacturing sector amounted to 85.6 billion euros, representing a nominal increase of 9.3% (+1.3% in 2016).
Manufacture of refined petroleum products, Manufacture of motor vehicles and Manufacture of chemical products recorded the most significant positive contributions to the overall growth in the manufacturing sector, with 1.7 p.p., 1.6 p.p. and 0.7 p.p., respectively, also increasing in relation to the previous year (19.8%, 18.9% and 14.5%, in the same order).
